Okay, so in act one a whole lot of stuff is going on between Krogstad, Mr. Rank, Torvald and Nora. Now in my opinion I feel that all of this arguing and blackmailing is totally unnecessary. This is because Nora borrowed the money to save her husbands life, and I don’t think he would be mad at that. If i was in that situation I would tell whoever it is that I borrowed money to save your life, is that such a bad thing? If my "other half" got mad at me for something like that they'd most likely be the stupidest person in the world.
I think Nora is totally acting like a little girl in this situation. This is because she’s falling for Krogstads blackmail, which she shouldn't even be getting blackmailed. Like I said before it's nothing more than borrowing money to save your husbands wife. Its not like Nora had a contraband of money coming from other places. She borrowed it from a family friend who was there in the nick of time to help a dear friend who was dying. In my opinion this whole blackmail and arguing things is completely frivolous!!!
I completely agree with you about Nora. She's a very sheltered and spoiled person. Since she's always been treated that way she doesn't know how else to act. She over reacts to Krogstads blackmail. It was just borrow some money that would be, and is being, paid back.
ReplyDeleteAlbie you took the words out of my mouth. The whole ordeal is stupid. Your husband should be more than happy that you'd be willing to do something for him! It just goes to show how naive people truly are. Great post!
ReplyDeleteWell personally I feel blackmail isn't ever necessary. Over reacting to blackmail isn't ever a surprise, who is calm towards blackmail. Whether you are the poorest person in the world or the most spoiled in the world. Other than that, she took the money for a reasonable cause and her over reacting is normal.
ReplyDeleteI think her overreacting is nothing more than a normal reaction because she feels helpless and doesn't want her husband to know she has borrrowed money. Also her fear of what Torvald said becoming true about her negatively afecting her family and her going to jail, also causes her too overrreact. Its not only about Torvald finding out, but she forged a signature, which is a crime.
ReplyDeleteAlbieeeee !
ReplyDeleteI Defiantly Agree That Nora Is Naive, As I Wrote On My Post. And Her Plans Are Wearing Down Slowly. Blackmailing Someone Is Harsh. But Then Again You Should Never Do Something Behind Your Husbands Back. Good Post I Agree With All That You Said . :)
